Jamalpur Correspondent:

At least 10 people were injured in a collision between a passenger bus and a covered van on Jamalpur-Mymensingh highway in Jamalpur Sadar upazila on Friday morning.

Though the identities of the injured could not be known yet, three of them were admitted to Jamalpur Sadar Hospital as their conditions were stated to be critical.

Police and locals said the Dhaka-bound bus of Rajib Paribahan and Jamalpur-bound covered van of Pran RFL group crashed into each other in Joyrampur area around 8am, leaving 10 people, including drivers of the both vehicles, injured.

Three of them were hospitalised at Jamalpur Sadar Hospital and the rest were discharged after giving first-aid, they said.

Officer-in-Charge of Jamalpur Sadar police station Abu Faisal Md Atik said they were trying to remove the accident-affected vehicles from the highway as numerous vehicles were stuck on the both ends of the road.

On March 2, two people were killed as a bus of the Rajib Paribahan ran over them in the Sadar upazila.

Being enraged by it, locals torched the vehicle.
