Accused in murder, robbery and arms cases arrested in Shahjadpur

Law enforcement forces have arrested a fugitive suspect, Md. Abdul Salam, who had multiple arrest warrants pending against him, from the Kashinathpur area under Shahjadpur upazila in Sirajganj. He faces at least 20 cases, including for murder, robbery, firearms violations, and illegal gambling, across various police stations in the country.
The arrestee, Md. Abdul Salam (59), is the son of the late Foroj Pramanik, hailing from Kashinathpur village in Shahjadpur upazila.
According to police sources, Salam has numerous criminal cases and outstanding arrest warrants against him at various police stations in Sirajganj, Bogura, Natore, and Pabna districts.
Police stated that he had been evading law enforcement agencies while carrying out criminal activities for a long time.
According to relevant police station records, charge sheets have been submitted in many of the cases filed against him. While he was acquitted in a few, most of the cases remain pending trial or under active investigation.
Commenting on the arrest, Shahjadpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Saiful Islam said, "Our regular drives to apprehend warrant-listed accused are ongoing. Legal action has been taken against the arrested individual, and he has been forwarded to the court."
