​Auto-rickshaw driver raped, strangled schoolgirl Tajmin to death: Police Collected Image
Police have claimed that they have already solved the murder of schoolgirl Jannatul Tajmin in Cumilla, identifying auto-rickshaw driver Sumon as the alleged perpetrator who raped her before strangling to death.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Pankaj Barua disclosed the information at a press conference at the district police superintendent’s office at 10:30am on Saturday (10 October).
Police recovered Tajmin’s body from a paddy field in Jagatpur village in Lalmai upazila on Thursday morning.
She was the daughter of Abdul Alim, a resident of Chhatianatala village in Jashore Sadar upazila, and a Class VII student at Farida Bidyayatan School in Cumilla city.
Her father works for a pharmaceutical company in Cumilla. The family lives in a rented flat in the city’s Racecourse area.
Abdul Alim filed a murder case with Lalmai Police Station against unidentified suspects over his daughter’s death.
