2 drug peddlers held in Rangpur, Dinajpur

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in separates drives arrested two drug peddlers with contraband substances, including heroin and Tapentadol tablets, in Rangpur and Dinajpur districts.

The arrested individuals are Md. Nur Hossain, 52, son of late Abdul Matin of Arambag village under Sadar upazila in Chapainawabganj district and Md. Mamun Ali, 26, son of Md. Rohidul Islam of Gorbari village under Biral upazila in Dinajpur district.

Acting on a tip-off, the Crime Prevention Specialized Company (CPSC) of RAB-13, based at its Rangpur headquarters searched a motorcycle in the Bhokrampur area in Rangpur metropolis at 1pm on wednesday and arrested Nur Hossain in possession of 210.96 grams of heroin, according to a press release issued by the RAB-13 on Thursday.

In another raid, the Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-1 of RAB-13 from its Nilphamari camp arrested Mamun Ali with 396 illegal Tapentadol tablets in the Zamtoli Bazar area under Sadar upazila in Dinajpur district at 1pm on the same day.

“Both detainees have been handed over to the respective police stations for further legal action,” the release added.
