Actor RJ Mitte, best known for playing Walter White Jr. in the hit television series Breaking Bad, commits suicide at the age of 34 in Brownsville, Texas. His representatives confirmed his death, which was later reported as suicide.

Mitte appeared in all five seasons of the critically acclaimed crime drama, playing the son of Walter White, portrayed by Bryan Cranston. Like his character, Mitte had cerebral palsy, which he used to bring authenticity to his performance.

Born in Jackson, Mississippi, Mitte was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of three. Beyond acting, he advocated for disability rights and greater representation of people with disabilities in the entertainment industry.

His other credits include Switched at Birth, The Recall, The Oak Room and Netflix’s The Guardians of Justice. He also served as an ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children’s and supported charitable initiatives through his own foundation.

Before his death, Mitte had been promoting his new film, Talking to Strangers, in which he plays a character with cerebral palsy. He was also engaged to his longtime partner, Kennedy Suarez, in 2025. The couple had been together since 2018.
