Shopping malls, markets to stay open till 10pm for Durga Puja

Shopping malls, markets and shops across the country will remain open until 10pm on the occasion of the upcoming Durga Puja.
The Power Division announced the extended business hours in a notice on Monday.
According to the notice, shopping malls, markets and shops will remain open from 11am to 10pm until 22 October.
From 23 October, the previous schedule, under which shops remain open from 11am to 8pm, will resume.
The Power Division sent the notice to mayors and administrators of city corporations, divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners, among others, for necessary action.
It also informed the managing directors of Dhaka Power Distribution Company Limited, Dhaka Electric Supply Company Limited, West Zone Power Distribution Company Limited and Northern Electricity Supply Company, as well as leaders of the Bangladesh Shop Owners’ Association and Dhaka Shop Owners’ Association, about the new schedule.
