Seven people arrested in the case filed over leaking Public Service Commission (PSC) question papers have given a confessional statement in the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court.

According to the deposition, a circle leaked questions to 10 candidates in the 33rd BCS examination. Three of them are currently serving in different cadres. Office assistant Khalilur Rahman of the Public Works Commission leaked questions to them.

Khalilur Rahman said in his confessional statement that six out of 10 people passed in the written test in the questions he leaked in that BCS. Three of six failed the viva voce while the remaining three became cadres.

Besides, he also confessed in the court that Khalilur had a hand in the recruitment of at least several hundred assistant upazila education officers and railways.

Khalilur also said that he used to introduce job seekers to a former high-ranking officer of the PSC. From there, if the green signal is received, the final decision on the financial transaction regarding the appointment would be made.

Niamul, the medical technologist of Suhrawardy Medical College, who was arrested in the question leaking case, also helped him many times in question leaking, he said.
