Police recovered a floating body of a man from a canal near the Comilla-Noakhali regional highway in Sadar South on Monday morning.
Sadar South police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Rafiqul Islam said the man was wearing a jacket, with no signs of injuries or blood on his body. Initial observations suggest he may have been suffering from epilepsy. The body has been sent to Comilla Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
The body of Altaf Hossain, 37, who worked at Pragati Insurance, was discovered at Hotel Dreamland in Laksam.
Laksam police station OC Nazneen Sultana said: “We have notified his family, and they are on their way. The cause of his death is unclear. The body has been sent for autopsy, and investigations are ongoing.”
The body of a woman was recovered from the roadside in Banduyan village, Manoharganj upazila, at 1:30am on Sunday. She was identified as the widow of Ayub Ali, a resident of the same village.
Sub-Inspector Emon Hossain of Manoharganj police station said the woman lived alone, and locals reported finding her body. The cause of death will be determined after an autopsy.
Further investigations are underway in all three cases.
