3 motorcyclists killed in collision with truck in Bandarban

Three motorcyclists have been killed in a collision with a dumper (mini truck) in the Tarabuniar Chara Bottali area of the No 2 Chwekhyong Union in the Alikadam upazila of Bandarban on Saturday afternoon.

The victims were identified as Belal Uddin, 35, Syed Amin, 34, and Minhaj, 35, all residents of the Bazar Para area in the Alikadam Sadar Union.

The incident occurred in the Tarabuniar Chara Bottali-Tarabunia region of Alikadam.

According to the police and locals, a dumper (mini truck) with the registration number Chittagong L-72 was travelling from Alikadam to Chakaria in Cox’s Bazar. Meanwhile, three individuals were riding a motorcycle towards Alikadam from the opposite direction.

Upon reaching the Tarabuniya-Chara Bottali area, the dumper collided head-on with the motorcycle, killing all three riders on the spot. The locals apprehended the truck involved in the incident.

Mirza Zahir Uddin, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Alikadam Police Station, said: “The bodies will be recovered from the scene and sent to the district hospital morgue, and legal action will be taken.”
