Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 in three separate drives arrested four presumed drug traders with huge contraband drugs from the Rangpur and Dinajpur districts on Tuesday night.
“The seized drugs include 970 pieces of Yaba tablets and 52 bottles of phensedyl,” said a press release issued here by Senior Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-13 Flight Lieutenant Md Saifullah Nayeem Wednesday.
On a tip-off, an operational team of RAB-13 from its Rangpur battalion headquarters conducted a raid at Sarai Dalalhat under Haragachh police station in Rangpur city and arrested two persons with 580 pieces of Yaba tablets from the spot.
The detainees were identified as Md Raju Ahmed, 38, of village Charuapara in Kurigram Sadar upazila and Md Majibar Rahman, 50, of village Ramprasad in Phulbari upazila of Kurigram district.
In another raid, an operational team of RAB-13 arrested Jahangir Alam, 44, of village Bonchaki in Hatibandha upazila of Lalmonirhat with 52 bottles of smuggled phensedyl from Kamarpara Bus Stand under Kotwali police station in Rangpur city.
Yet in another raid, the Crime Prevention Specialised Company (CPSC)-1 of RAB-13 from its Dinajpur Camp arrested a man with 390 Yaba tablets from village Purbodolla Dendapara under Chirirbandar police station in Dinajpur district.
The detainee was identified as Ganesh Chandra Roy, 45, of village Durga Danga in Chirirbandar upazila of Dinajpur district.
The elite force handed the arrested persons over to Haragachh police station and Kotwali police station of Rangpur Metropolitan Police and Chirirbandar police station in Dinajpur respectively for further legal action.
