Apple’s first foldable iPhone Duo reaches customers
Apple’s first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, reached customers worldwide on Friday (October 23), marking the company’s entry into the foldable phone market dominated by rivals such as Samsung and Huawei.
Priced from $1,999 in the United States, the device features a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch outer screen, allowing users to switch between a smartphone and a larger display for multitasking, gaming and watching videos. It is powered by Apple’s A20 Pro chip and runs iOS 27.1.
The foldable iPhone features a titanium frame, a precision-engineered hinge and a dual-battery system. Apple says the design minimises screen-crease visibility while maintaining durability. The device comes in Star White and Night Sky, with storage options ranging from 256GB to 2TB.
Strong pre-order demand has extended delivery estimates for some buyers into January 2027, while limited launch-day supplies have constrained availability in several markets, Reuters reported.
