46th founding anniversary of Chhatra Dal was observed in Sirajganj on Wednesday with various colorful arrangements.

Marking the day, a procession along with band party, horse-drawn carriages, banners and festoons of various colors including symbols of paddy sheaves was brought out from Bhashani Sabuj Chattar and marched main streets in the town.

Sirajganj District BNP President and former Member of Parliament (MP) Romana Mahmud addressed as chief guest on the occasion.

District Chhatra Dal President Jonayed Hossain Sabuj presided over the event, while District BNP General Secretary Saidur Rahman Bachchu, Joint Secretary Nur Kayem Sabuj, town BNP General Secretary Munshi Zahid Alam, Swechchhasebak Dal convener Abdullah Al Kayes and Chhatra Dal General Secretary Serajul Islam Seraj among others spoke on the occasion.

After a long 16 years, the District Chhatra Dal was able to celebrate its founding anniversary in the town.

Speaking as the chief guest, Romana Mahmud said, “We have got a new Bangladesh due to sacrificing movement of students and the public. Students must play a leading role in building this new Bangladesh as a green, lush and developing country with the ideals of martyred President Ziaur Rahman.”
