BRAHMANBARIA: Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Hossain has accused the previous fascist government of destroying the country's health sector through widespread plunder, pledging to extend healthcare services from cities to rural areas.
He made the remarks while responding to questions from journalists during a visit to Kasba upazila in Brahmanbaria on Wednesday (October 28).
The minister attended the inauguration of a mobile hospital service for Kasba and Akhaura upazilas, organised by the Rahman Development Foundation (RDF), as the chief guest. Mushfiqur Rahman, MP for Brahmanbaria-4 (Kasba-Akhaura), was also present.
The mobile hospital is planned to provide general medical consultations, maternal and child healthcare, dental treatment, diagnostic tests and free medicines.
The initiative aims to bring essential healthcare services to the doorsteps of people living in remote areas, where access to medical facilities is often limited.
The programme is part of an effort to expand healthcare access beyond urban centres and make essential medical services more accessible to rural communities.
