Gopalganj Correspondent:

Five people of a family were killed in a road accident in Gopalganj’s Muksudpur upazila on Wednesday (March 20) morning.

The accident happened at about 11:00am on the Dhaka-Barishal highway.

It was initially reported that all the deceased were residents of Gopalpur area of Kalkini upazila of Madaripur district.

According to police, members of the same family were returning to Kalkini by microbus from Dhaka. On the way, when it reached Chagalchira in Muksudpur, the microbus collided head-on with a Dhaka bound bus from Barisal.

Four men and one woman in the microbus died on the spot. Several others were injured in the incident. They have been admitted to Rajoir Upazila Health Complex.

Ashraful Alam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Muksudpur police station confirmed the matter.
