The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday sent a letter to the foreign ministry asking the ministry to take steps for removing Saima Wazed Putul from the post of WHO South Asia Director.
On 15 January, the ACC launched an investigation to identify irregularities committed by the then ruling Awami League for securing the post.
ACC Director General (Prevention) Md Akter Hossain told reporters that initial investigation confirms ousted dictator Sheikh Hasina unduly used her influence and other unfair means to appoint her daughter Saima Wazed as the WHO regional chief, despite the latter not having the required qualifications.
