On the occasion of this year’s Valentine’s Day, Tawsif Mahbub, one of Bangladesh’s rising actors, and renowned singer Sabrina Porshi are teaming up for the romantic drama “Moneri Ronge Rangiye”, a much-anticipated release set to capture the mood of the season.
Filming for the project began on January 23 in the lush, scenic beauty of Jaflong in Sylhet—a fitting backdrop for a love story that producer Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Raz believes will enhance the romance at the heart of the narrative. Raz shared that the film’s location was carefully selected to emphasise the story’s emotional and visual richness, capturing the raw beauty of nature as the tale of love unfolds around it.
Written and directed by KM Sohag Rana, the drama is centred around the theme of love and its awakening. Rana, known for his nuanced storytelling, explained that while the drama fits the typical Valentine’s Day mould with its romantic theme, it will go deeper. “It’s not just about love—it’s about discovering the emotion. That’s the story we’re telling,” he shared.
In addition to Tawsif and Porshi, the cast includes actors MNU Raju, Mahmudul Islam Mithu, and Sadnima, creating an ensemble with strong performances. Fuad Bin Alamgir is responsible for the cinematography, which promises to bring out the natural beauty of Jaflong in ways that will resonate with the audience.
Porshi not only stars in the drama “Moneri Ronge Rangiye” but will also flex her musical talent. She collaborated with renowned composer Arfin Rumey, who wrote and composed the song. She will add another layer of appeal to the production by lending her voice to the soundtrack.
“Moneri Ronge Rangiye” is set for release on February 14 on the Cinemawala YouTube channel, and it’s already generating buzz among fans of both Tawsif and Porshi, as well as those looking towards a heartwarming story to mark Valentine’s Day.
