Musician and actor Pritom Hasan and actress-model Shahtaj Monira Hashem have announced that they have mutually decided to end their marriage and move forward with a divorce.
The couple made the announcement in identical posts on their respective official social media handles on Sunday night, saying the decision was made amicably after much thoughtful consideration.
“While we are grateful for the memories we shared and still care for each other, we realised over time that we are simply better off separate ways due to lack of mutual understanding,” Pritom wrote in his post. Shahtaj also shared a similar statement.
“With the support from our families, we are moving forward with a divorce,” they said.
They also requested their friends, colleagues and the media to respect their privacy during the transition.
Pritom and Shahtaj got married on 29 October 2022 in Sreemangal in the presence of members of both families and close friends. The couple had been in a long-term relationship before their marriage. They were also seen sharing moments and memories together on social media at various times after their marriage.
