Liberation War Affairs State Minister Ishraq Hossain personally removed the government official logo from his vehicle on Monday, amid controversy over his recent appearance at an anti-drug operation.
He removed the logo while travelling from his residence to the National Press Club around noon on October 19.
Speaking to the media, Ishraq, a lawmaker from Dhaka-6, said he was resigning for personal reasons, not at the direction of his party. He also vowed to continue his fight against drugs.
The controversy erupted after a video showing Ishraq carrying a firearm during an anti-drug drive in Gandaria on Saturday went viral, triggering widespread discussion and criticism across the country.
