Home ministry issued a notification in this regard today

 
The government has appointed Additional Inspector General of Police Faruk Ahmed as the new director general of Special Response Battalion (SRB), and Deputy Inspector General Md Ashique Sayed as commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP).
 
The home ministry issued a notification in this regard today.
 
According to the notification, incumbent SRB Director General Additional IGP Md Ahsan Habib Palash has been transferred to Police Headquarters.
 
Meanwhile, incumbent GMP commissioner Md Israil Hawlader has been promoted to additional IGP and posted to the Industrial Police. Additional IGP Gazi Jasim Uddin, who has been heading the Industrial Police, has been transferred to the Police Telecom Organisation.
 
In another change, DIG Mir Ashraf Ali, who was serving in the Railway Police, has been posted to the Rajshahi Range, replacing Ashique Sayed, who was serving as its DIG.
 
The notification said all the transfers and postings would come into effect immediately.
