Singer-songwriter Parsha Mahjabeen has announced her marriage, but she is keeping her husband’s identity under wraps.
Even in the wedding photographs she shared online, she covered his face with flowers, playfully asking curious followers not to trouble her or her family for details.
Parsha told media that their akdh took place abroad on 26 October. Visa complications prevented her family from attending, although members of the groom’s family were present. The couple plan to hold the remaining celebrations with relatives and friends within six months.
Parsha said they met while travelling abroad around a year ago. She calls her husband ‘Priyo’ and said she would not reveal his name because people would recognise him.
She also questioned why covering a bride’s face is widely accepted as tradition, while doing the same to a groom attracts curiosity. For her, the gesture was a playful reversal of that convention.
Parsha said she wanted a partner who made her feel as safe and cherished as her father did, while respecting her independence and showing compassion towards people, animals and nature. She described her husband as almost a copy of her father.
Known for the song ‘Cholo Bhule Jai’, which drew attention during the quota reform movement, Parsha has also worked as an actress. She said she never wanted a man to place a crown on her head, only someone who would never ask her to take it off.
