10 groom-passengers of a wedding were killed when a microbus fell into a canal after collapsing a bridge at Amtali in Barguna. At least 5-6 people are missing in this incident.

Police, fire service, divers, and local people are carrying out rescue work after receiving the information.

The accident took place on Saturday (June 22) afternoon when the bridge connected with Chowra and Haldia Haat of the upazila was broken.

Locals said that the groom-passengers were crossing through the bridge in a microbus at noon. At that time, when the microbus reached the middle of the bridge, it collapsed and fell into the canal. 10 bodies have been recovered so far. Several people are also missing.

Confirming the matter, Amtali Police Station OC Kazi Md. Sakhawat Hossain Tapu said that 10 bodies have been recovered so far. 5-6 people are missing. No one has been identified yet.
