A truck has rammed into an Army patrol vehicle in Rajshahi’s Mohonpur Upazila, sending both vehicles into a roadside ditch.
At least 10 people, including 8 Army personnel, were injured in the incident, which occurred around 5:30am on Tuesday near Mohanpur Model Town along the Rajshahi-Naogaon regional highway.
According to Ataur Rahman, chief of Mohonpur Police Station, one of the injured was admitted to Rajshahi Combined Military Hospital, while two others were taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
The remaining victims received first aid.
“The truck lost control and hit an Army patrol vehicle from behind in front of Mohonpur Model Town,” Rahman said.
“As a result, the army pickup van and the truck fell into a roadside ditch. Later, Fire Service personnel rescued the injured and sent them to hospitals.”
He added that the truck driver was arrested after the accident.
