At least 10 shops and five godowns were gutted in fire at Jute Port in Ullapara of Sirajganj district on Wednesday noon as miscreants set the shops on fire centering an altercation that erupted from a tripling matter.

According to the sources of fire service in Ullapara, the fire broke out in the area, while some miscreants set fire to those centric an altercation erupted over purchasing a chicken.

On information, six units of local fire service reached to the spot and brought the fire under control.

The loss from the fire was estimated at Tk 3 crore, fire service officials said.
