Eleven issues have been given special importance in the budget of Tk 7,97,000 crore, the largest in the history of the country, for the fiscal year 2024-25. These issues were prioritized in the Awami League’s manifesto in the 12th National Assembly elections.

Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmood Ali said this in the budget proposal in the National Parliament on Thursday.

The finance minister said that we have given special importance to 11 issues in this year’s election manifesto. Making every effort to keep commodity prices within the purchasing power of all, ensuring employable education and youth employment, building a smart Bangladesh based on modern technology, and integrating the agricultural system with the aim of profitable agriculture will be important in the budget.

The finance minister also said that special consideration has been taken during budget formulation to increase investment in mechanization and processing, expand industry by taking advantage of visible infrastructure and increasing investment, increase efficiency and capacity in the financial sector including banks, make health care affordable for low-income people, and the universal pension system for all.
