The 13^th anniversary of Dainik Ajker Sirajganj, a Bengali daily newspaper, was observed amid discussion and cake cutting function at the Hall Room of Sirajganj Press Club on Friday evening.

The programme was presided over by Harun-or-Rashid Khan Hasan, President of Sirajganj Press Club, while Advocate Rafique Sarker, President of Sirajganj District Lawyers’ Association attended the event as chief guest.

The programme was conducted by Shariful Islam Inna, General Secretary of Sirajganj Press Club.

Jihadul Islam, Chief Editor and Publisher of the newspaper gave welcome speech and Jakirul Islam Santu, Editor of the newspaper presented his time worthy speech on this occasion.

Ferdaus Rabin, Staff Reporter of Channel-I, Ismail Hossain, Executive Editor of the Daily Sirajganj Protidin, Hirok Goon, Senior Reporter of Channel-24, Golam Mostafa Rubel, Own Correspondent of Jamuna Television, Yusuf Dewan Raju, District Correspondent of Rtv, Dileep Gourh, District Correspondent of Independent Television, Ashraful Islam Joy, Planning Editor of The Daily Sky among others were also present in the event.

Speakers at the discussion meeting said, “Mass-media believes freedom of speech. Media men are not opponents of any government or any organization. Media finds out all discrepancies in the society, raises voice against crimes and corruption and encourages to serving for the people. Media plays vital role to build up a develop nation for any country. So, there is no alternative of becoming united by all the working journalists to establish their professionalism.”
