Two motorcyclists were killed in a road accident in Mymensingh’s Sadar upazila district on Friday.

The accident took place around 11:00 AM at Jamtoali in the upazila.

The dead were Abir Hossain, 19, son of Babul Hossain, a resident of Maskanda in the upazila, and his friend Mehedi Hasan, 20, son of Yunus Ali, resident of Puohitpara area in the same upazila.

Confirming the matter, Mymensingh Kotwali Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shofiqul Islam said that the duo fell on the road losing control over the motorcycle, left them seriously injured.

Locals rescued them and took to Mymensingh College Hospital for treatment where the attending doctors declared them dead upon arrival, the OC said.

Police, on information, recovered the bodies and sent those to the hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC added.
