A court in Sirajganj on Tuesday sentenced two drug peddlers to life term imprisonment for possessing heroin.

The court also fined them Tk 10,000 each, in default, they will have to serve in Jail for another a month.

The convicts are Jasim Uddin, son of Fazlur Rahman of Anupnagor village and Piarul Islam, son of Tahsan Ali of Char Alatuli village in Chapainawabganj district.

Begum Laila Sharmin, Justice of the Additional District and Sessions Judge Court-1 in Sirajganj delivered the verdict on Tuesday noon.

Shamsuzzoha Shahan Shah, APP of the court confirmed the information and said, accused Jasim Uddin was present at the court during verdict. Another accused was absconding.

According to the prosecution brief, RAB-12 forces arrested the drug dealers along with 334 gram of heroin from beside a filling station in Bhengri village under Solonga thana. A case was lodged with the respective police station in this connection.
