Bogura Correspondent:
Two people were killed and five others, including a child, were injured in a collision between a truck and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Nandigram upazila in Bogura district on Sunday.
The accident occurred around 11:45 AM on the Kundarhat area along the Bogura-Natore highway.
The dead have been identified as Arafat Hossain, 22, the CNG driver and son of Shafiqul Islam from Katham Dakshinpara village, and Hawa Bibi, 50, a passenger and wife of Nazur Haji from Bisha village. Among the injured are three CNG passengers and two pedestrians.
Nirmal Chandra Mohanto, Officer-in-Charge of Kundarhat Highway Police Station, confirmed the news.
He said a courier service truck involved in the collision has been seized. The bodies of the deceased have been sent to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital morgue, while the injured are undergoing treatment.
OC Nirmal added that the bodies will be handed over to the respective families following legal procedures. An investigation into the matter is underway.
