2 killed in Sirajganj road accident

Two people were killed when a tank lorry collided with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at the Purbodelua Bazar area of the Nagarbari-Bogura highway in Ullapara upazila of Sirajganj district on Thursday.
Four others were left injured in the accident.
The deceased have been identified as Shariful Islam, 35, and Abdul Momin, 32. Both were passengers of the auto-rickshaw.
Hatikumrul Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Abdur Rouf said, the accident took place at about 4:00pm, when a Baghabari-bound tank lorry collided with an Ullapara bound auto-rickshaw. The auto-rickshaw was damaged and two people died on the spot, while four, including the CNG driver, were injured. Police and fire fighters rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies. The injured have been admitted to Ullapara Upazila Health Complex.
The vehicles affected by the accident were removed from the spot and vehicular movement came back to normalcy, the OC said.
However, the driver of the tank lorry had fled the scene, he added.
