As many as 20 people were hospitalized today after being diagnosed with dengue in the last 24 hours till 8 am today, bringing the overall dengue caseload to 959.
Besides, no deaths were reported by the Aedes-borne mosquito disease during the period, remaining the death toll by the deadly disease at 14 this year.
This was informed in a notification sent from the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday (January 31).
20 patients, in the last 24 hours, have been admitted to the hospitals due to dengue. Among them, 9 people were hospitalized in different hospitals in Dhaka and 11 people were admitted to hospitals outside Dhaka.
At present, 113 dengue patients are under treatment in different hospitals in the country. Of these, 42 patients have been treated in hospitals in Dhaka and 71 patients outside Dhaka.
So far, from January 1 to 31 this year, 1,055 dengue cases have been detected. Among these, 358 dengue cases were detected in Dhaka and 697 people were diagnosed with dengue outside Dhaka.
DGHS says that 26 people recovered from dengue in the last 24 hours, of these, 3 people got discharged from hospitals in Dhaka and 23 recovered from Aedes-borne mosquito disease outside Dhaka.
So far, 928 patients have been released from hospitals and recovered across the country. Among these, 308 were recovered in Dhaka and 620 were recovered outside Dhaka.
Noted that in 2023, the country witnessed a severe turn in the dengue outbreak, registering 321,179 dengue cases and 1,705 deaths while 318,749 people recovered from this disease from January 1 to December 31.
