A mobile court in a drive on Sunday night recovered 210 sacks of government rice of Vulnerable Women Benefit (VWB) programme from Charjajuria village in Chowhali upazila of Sirajganj district.

During the drive, the mobile court also arrested a man named Mohammad Ali, 25, of the village in this connection. The arrested was sent to Jail.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of mobile court led by Mohammad Mustafizur Rahman, UNO of Chowhali upazila raided three houses of Shahzahan Sarder, Rustom Ali and Jahangir Alam in the village and found the government rice preserved there illegally. Later the rice sacks were seized and legal steps were taken against the involved by the mobile court, said Abdul Barick, Officer in Charge of Chowhali police station.
