At least 27 people have been killed and about 56 lakh 19 thousand 375 people have been affected by floods in 11 districts of the country so far. At the moment, a total of 12 lakh 7 thousand 429 families are waterlogged in 11 districts.
The adviser to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Farooq-e Azam, gave this information at a press conference on the ongoing flood situation at the Secretariat on Tuesday afternoon.
The relief advisor said that till now there are 11 flood-affected districts. The total number of affected people in 11 districts is 56 lakh 19 thousand 375 people. There are 12 lakh 7 thousand 429 waterlogged families. A total of, 74 upazilas and 541 unions/municipalities flooded.
He said that so far 27 people have died in the flood. Among them, 10 died in Cumilla, one in Feni, 5 in Chattogram, one in Khagrachari, 5 in Noakhali, one in Brahmanbaria, one in Lakshmipur and three in Cox’s Bazar.
