A court in Sirajganj on Thursday sentenced three heroin traders to life term imprisonment.

The court also fined Tk 30,000 each, in default; they will have to suffer three more months in Jail.

The convicted are: Shahadat Hossain, son of Fazlur Rahman of Mohishalbari village in Godagari upazila of Rajshahi district, Dablu Haque, son of Ekramul Haque and Nimai Sing, son of Gabinda Sing of the same area.

Mohammad Erfan Ullah, Judge of the Additional District & Sessions Judge Court-1 in Sirajganj delivered the verdict. Advocate and Additional Public Prosecutor (Addl PP) of the court confirmed the matter to the media.

According to the prosecution brief, police in a drive at Hatikumrul roundabout on May 25, 2020 arrested Shahadat Hossain and Dablu along with 200 gram of heroin, when they were coming from Rajshahi.

In another incident on May 28, 2020, RAB members arrested Nimai along with 210 gram of heroin after carrying search at a Dhaka bound passenger bus coming from Rajshahi.

Two separate cases were lodged with the respective police stations in those connections.
