Six motorcyclists were killed in two separate road accidents in Chattogram and Gopalganj on Friday, January 17.
In Chattogram, a speedy bus rammed a motorcycle in Sufia road area in Mirsharai around 4:00am, leaving three riders dead on the spot, said Mirsharai police station’s officer-in-charge Atiqur Rahman Majumdar.
The dead were identified as Rubel Barua, 40, member of Mayani union BNP, Nippu Barua, 43, and Sony Barua, 37, residents of Mayani Barua Para in the upazila.
In Gopalganj, three motorcyclists were killed when a bus hit their motorcycle in front of Sampan Highway Restaurant in Hiranya Kandi area on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway around 6:00am, said officier-in-charge of Bhanga Highway police station, Faridpur, Md Rakibuzzaman.
Quoting family members, the OC said they met their tragic end when they were going to drink date palm juice.
The deceased were identified as Dipu Das, 18, son of Bishnudas, Bishal Nag, 19, son of Babul Nag, and Ridoy Mridha, 18, son of Minarul Mridha, residents of Pona area in the area.
