Three people died and 10 others were injured after a bus carrying them hit a roadside tree on Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Cumilla’s Chauddagram upazila on Sunday morning.

The deceased could not be identified till the filing of this report.

The accident took place in Padua Bazar area around 11:00am, said Jashim Uddin, in-charge of Mia Bazar Highway Police Outpost.

“The driver lost control over the steering and hit the tree. Police and firefighters rushed to the spot on information and rescued the victims,” he added.

The injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, the police official added.
