A Faridpur court has sentenced three people to death and three others to life term imprisonment in a case filed over the murder of a student in Nagarkanda upazila of the district.

Faridpur Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Md Hafizur Rahman passed the order around 12:30pm on Wednesday.

The death-row convicts are Mahabub Alam, Kamal Matubbor and Khokon Matubbor.

The convicts who got life term imprisonment are Ashraf Sheikh, Azizul Sheikh and Suzon Matubbor.

The public prosecutor of the court Swapon Kumar Paul confirmed the matter.

On June 7, 2018, Alauddin alias Antor, a student of class eight, of Char Manikdi area under Talma union in the upazila, was kidnapped and strangled to death.
