TDS Desk:
A total of 373,312 citizens have enrolled themselves in four categories under the Universal Pension Scheme (UPS) to date.
To ensure financial security in the future, initiatives have been taken to include individuals aged 18 and above in the UPS, according to an official handout issued.
It said that efforts are underway to raise awareness, disseminate information regarding the scheme, and encourage wider registration.
The Finance Division has issued a circular to allocate a registration fee from the government budget, intended to incentivize Union Digital Centers to facilitate registrations.
Additionally, the National Pension Authority (NPA) has initiated plans to organize pension fairs and workshops across division, district, and upazila levels to further promote the scheme.
To enhance customer convenience, the NPA has already signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with 12 banks, along with mobile financial service providers Nagad and bKash.
Besides, MoUs with an additional 10 banks are currently in progress to simplify monthly installment payments.
Furthermore, new customer-friendly features will be introduced to improve the accessibility of the UPS.
