The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast four days of rain in Bangladesh at the start of October.

“There will be continuous rain across the country from tomorrow, which will continue until Oct 4,” says Meteorologist Afroza Sultana.

“In particular, Sylhet may see heavy rain and there is a possibility of rain in the Mymensingh-Chattogram region. There is the possibility of drizzling rain in other parts of the country.”

There is also a possibility of rain in Mymensingh and Sylhet on Monday, she said.

“The weather will be cloudy in Dhaka today. There is the possibility of some rain.”

Sylhet recorded 113 mm of rain in the past 24 hours, the highest level in the country. The highest temperature was recorded in Mongla at 36.2 degrees Celsius.

The BMD’s regular morning bulletin says that many parts of the Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, some parts of the Dhaka and Barishal divisions, and one or two places in the Rangpur, Rajshahi, and Khulna divisions may see thunderstorms in the 24 hours from 9am on Monday.

Some parts of the country may also see moderately heavy rain, it said.

The day and night temperatures are likely to remain largely unchanged on Monday, the BMD said. On Tuesday, the daytime temperature may drop slightly, while the night-time temperature remains unchanged.
