Four more deaths were reported from dengue in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 259 so far this year.

Of the new deaths, one was reported in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), one in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), one in Mymensingh division (Out of CC), and another in Sylhet division (Out of CC).

During the period, 803 more patients were hospitalised with the viral fever, raising the total cases to 63,170 to date this year, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a statement today (October 23).

Of the new cases, 112 were recorded in Barishal division (Out of CC), 97 in Chattogram division (Out of CC), 147 in Dhaka division (Out of CC), 155 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), and 130 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

Besides, 49 new cases were recorded in Khulna division (Out of CC), 49 in Mymensingh division (Out of CC), 37 in Rajshahi division (Out of CC), 17 in Rangpur division (Out of CC), and 10 in Sylhet division (Out of CC).
