At least 40 differently abled (physically challenged) people in Sirajganj have got supportive equipments at a free of cost to make their lives and livelihoods ease and comfortable.

A total of 46 assistive devices (equipments) with seven varieties have been distributed completely free of cost among the helpless differently abled people in Sirajganj. These include 36 wheelchairs, 8 tricycles, 1 crutch and 1 walker.

Disability Service and Support Center in Sirajganj with the support of National Disability Development Foundation and Ministry of Social Welfare organized an ordinary function at the District Social Service Complex on Tuesday morning centering the distribution programme.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Nazrul Islam attended the programme as chief guest. District Disability Affairs Officer Md. Abul Hashem presided over the programme, while it was moderated by physiotherapy consultant AKM Mahbubul Haque.

District administration officials, social service officials, beneficiaries and their guardians were also present at the programme.
