Health Adviser Nurjahan Begum said that more than 40 doctors did not return after going abroad for training. It is a waste for poor countries like Bangladesh. In these cases, doctors can go for training abroad subject to conditions.
He said this at the National Institute of Neuroscience Hospital on Saturday at the celebration of World Movement Disorders Day.
Following the demands of doctors for training abroad, the health adviser said, there is no opportunity to learn well in two to three days of training. So there is no objection to training for seven days or longer. But more than 40 doctors went abroad for training or higher degrees and never came back.
He also said that letters have been given to them several times. Still didn’t work. How to prevent this waste in poor countries like Bangladesh? So doctors can go abroad for training or higher education subject to the condition of returning home.
Nurjahan Begum said that the price of medicine in the country is increasing day by day. Medicines should be priced within the reach of common people.
The health adviser said that no one had to go outside the country for treatment during an epidemic or disaster. It has been possible to ensure the highest service in the country.
