A 40-year-old man was stabbed to death by his brother-in-law over a land dispute in the Nawdapara area of Rajshahi on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Ruhul Amin, sob of Nazrul Islam of Nawdapara, said Masuma Mostari, officer-in-charge of Shah Makhdum Police Station.

The accused, Mintu, has been on the run since the incident, said the OC.

Ruhul Amin was measuring his father-in-law’s land around 11 am on Saturday when he got into a quarrel with Mintu over its division. At one point, Mintu struck Ruhul Amin’s neck with a local weapon, killing him on the spot, added the OC.

The body was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for an autopsy. Action will be taken once the family of the deceased files a case, said the police official.
