Sports Desk:
Al-Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 926th career goal on Friday, and with it, he balanced the scale of goals before and after the age of 30.
Ronaldo found the net during Al-Nassr’s 2-2 draw with Al-Shabab in the Saudi Pro League when he blasted home from inside the box in first-half stoppage time at Al-Awwal Park. Initially ruled offside, the goal stood after a VAR check.
The goal saw Ronaldo, who turned 40 just about a month ago, reach a unique balance. This was Ronaldo’s 463rd goal after turning 30. He had also scored the exact same number of goals before his 30th birthday.
Ronaldo, who has targeted becoming the first and only footballer to reach the 1,000-goal mark, is now just 74 goals shy of the milestone. And with the way the Portugal legend has been playing even after turning 40, it seems only a matter of time before he achieves the landmark.
