Home Ministry notifications announce promotions and pay-grade elevations for 7 senior police officials

The government has promoted five police officials to the rank of additional inspector general of police (additional IGP) and elevated two serving additional IGPs to Grade-1 under the National Pay Scale 2015.

Two separate office orders in this regard were issued by the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs today.

According to the notifications, signed by Deputy Secretary Md Touhid Ahmed on behalf of the president, the two officials promoted to Grade-1 are Additional IGP of the Highway Police Md Delwar Hossain Mia and Additional IGP at the Police Headquarters AKM Awlad Hossain.

The notifications also announced the promotion of five deputy inspectors general of police (DIGs) to the rank of additional IGP (Grade-2). They are: Sylhet Range DIG Md Mushfequr Rahman, National Security Intelligence (NSI) Director Barrister Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, Chattogram Range DIG Md Moniruzzaman, Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) Additional Director General Faruk Ahmed, and Dhaka Range DIG Rezaul Karim Mallik.

The promotions take immediate effect, according to the notifications.
