6 theatre activists honoured with ‘Loko Natya dal Padak’

Six distinguished theatre activists have been honoured with the “LokoNatyadalPadak 2021-22”. Country’s popular theatre troupe LokoNatyadal felicitated the noted personalities at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Saturday, marking its 43rd founding anniversary.

The recipients of the award were DrEnamulHaque (posthumously), SM Mohsin (posthumously), ArhamAlo, Shahadat Hossain Khan Hilu, Syed Dulal, and Konkan Das.

Cultural Affairs Ministry Secretary Khalil Ahmed attended the event as the chief guest while ManchasarathiAtaur Rahman as special guest with LokoNatyadal Director, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Director General and Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation Chairman Liaquat Ali Lucky in the chair.

Lucky Enam received the award on behalf of DrEnamulHaque while SM Mohsin’s son Tonmoy received the award for actor.

A discussion was also held after award ceremony.

The ceremony concluded with cultural soiree featuring dances, songs and a dance-drama based on Rabindranath Tagore’s “Birpurush”. After that, the play “EktiShiterRatri” was staged. The play is written by Stefan Gothe, translated by Kristi Hefaz, and directed by Liaquat Ali Lucky.
