6,000 sued over killing of 15 cops in Enayetpur PS

A case was filed against 6,000 individuals of Sirajganj district, including high-profile (AL) Awami League leaders, over the killing of 15 police personnel during the student movement on August 4.

Abdul Malek, sub-inspector of Enayetpur Police Station, filed the case on Sunday night. The case names four individuals while the others were made accused as unidentified people.

Superintendent of Police in Sirajganj Arifur Rahman Mondal confirmed the details of the case on Tuesday.

According to the case statement, the incident occurred on August 4th during the student protest. The protest escalated into a violent attack on the Enayetpur police station, resulting in extensive damage and the tragic loss of police lives. The attackers not only vandalized the station but also set it on fire, causing damages estimated at Tk 4 crore.

The case includes, the president of Enayetpur upazila AL Ahmed Mostafa Khan Bachchu, general secretary Azgar Ali, chairman of Khukni Union Parishad in Shahzadpur upazila Mulluq Chan, and chairman of Vangabari Union Parishad in Belkuchi upazila Zahurul Islam Bhuiyan.

The Police Super Arifur Rahman Mandal told TDS that the law enforcement agencies are working hard to nab the accused involved in this heinous crime.
