The government has sent 7 senior police officers into forced retirement including three additional IGPs of Bangladesh Police.

They were sent on compulsory retirement in a separate notification of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday.

The seven officers are – Additional IGP of Railway Police Devdas Bhattacharya, Deputy Inspector General of Police (promoted to Supernumerary Additional IGP) AKM Hafiz Akhter, Deputy Inspector General of Dhaka Police Telecom (promoted to Supernumerary Additional IGP) Bashir Ahmad, RRF Police Super (attached to police headquarters) Md. Mizanur Rahman, Assistant Superintendent of Police of APBN Rafiqul Islam, Assistant Police Superintendent of DMP Dadon Fakir and Assistant Superintendent of Police Shamim or Rashid Talukder.
