A total of 76 police officers, who were previously made Officers on Special Duty (OSD) and attached to the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, have now been reassigned to different ranges across the country.
The transfer order was issued on Wednesday (August 6) through a circular signed by Md Mahbubur Rahman, deputy secretary of the Public Security Division (Police-1 Branch).
According to the latest directive, the 76 officers have been attached to various DIG offices in different ranges, the Police Training Centre (PTC), and in Sardah, Rajshahi.
The transferred officers include officials holding ranks such as deputy inspector general (DIG), additional DIG, and superintendent of police (SP).
Earlier, on 25 February, the home ministry issued three separate circulars, making 82 senior police officials OSDs.
Among them were one additional inspector general of police, 13 DIGs, over 50 additional DIGs, and 15 SP-ranked officers.
