They say winning is a habit, and if that’s the case, Rangpur Riders have turned it into a lifestyle.

With a perfect record of eight wins from eight matches in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2025, the Riders are looking unbeatable.

Time and again, they’ve faced crunch moments—high-pressure situations where most teams would falter—but somehow, they always manage to come out on top. Their resilience, calm under fire, and unwavering determination have made them the team to watch.

Every match feels like a statement, a testament to their dominance.

After their win over Chittagong Kings on Friday, Rangpur now hold the joint-longest unbeaten streak for a BPL franchise in T20 cricket. Including three consecutive victories in the Global Super League (GSL), which ultimately crowned them champions, and their flawless BPL campaign so far, Rangpur are unbeaten in 11 consecutive T20 matches, equaling the record set by the Comilla Victorians during their triumphant 2023 BPL season.

And they are not far away from the longest unbeaten streak in franchise T20 cricket (14 matches, by Kolkata Knight Riders in 2014).

As the tournament progresses, it’s clear: Rangpur Riders aren’t just playing to win—they’re playing to make history, and right now, it seems like no one can stop them.

BUT WHAT MAKES THE RIDERS UNSTOPPABLE?

The answer, in one word, probably is their team effort. They have clicked in all three departments at the same time and thus proved to be a class above the rest.

Rangpur have had a consistent playing eleven throughout the tournament so far. This has been one of the key reasons for their success. Apart from one or two changes, that too surrounding the same group of people, Rangpur had a similar XI in most matches.

Speaking of consistency, Rangpur batters, especially the local ones along with Alex Hales, Iftikhar Ahmed and Khushdil Shah have come good each time the team needed them.

Saif Hassan has been outstanding with the bat with 245 runs to his name including two match-winning half-centuries. Khushdil is currently the third-highest run getter in the tournament with 274 runs at a strike rate nearing 200 which has proved vital in the death overs. Alex Hales, before departing, bagged 218 runs from six matches including a hundred.

While the batters have shown the way, their bowlers have been relentless in dismantling opponents.

Nahid Rana has emerged as the star of the tournament with his fiery pace, picking up nine wickets, same as Mahedi Hasan, who has been equally instrumental. Mohammad Saifuddin, too, has played a pivotal role with his consistent performances. Most importantly, they have taken early wickets to unsettle the opponents early in the innings.

Nurul Hasan’s captaincy has played a massive part behind the Riders’ run. He has led the team from the front, from behind the stumps and with the bat whenever the team needed him to step up. Every player and the coaches seem amazed how Nurul has led the Riders so far in the tournament.

Fighting back from behind and winning the crunch moments have also been a trademark of Rangpur Riders’ run so far. There have been moments when Rangpur seemed down and out but they always fought back.

Take the match against Fortune Barishal, where Rangpur needed 26 to win in the final over, and Nurul scored 30 to seal the victory. Or the match against Khulna Tigers, where they quite comfortably defended 22 in the final three overs.

As the BPL now nearing its business end, Rangpur Riders are proving that their winning streak is no fluke. With a perfect blend of consistency, individual brilliance, and strong leadership under Nurul Hasan, they continue to defy expectations.

As they chase history, one thing is clear: Rangpur’s hunger for victory is unmatched, and if they keep playing like this, the record books will soon have a new chapter dedicated to them.
