Allegation of violating an eight-year-old girl, also class-I student of a Madrasa at Ramgati area in Sirajganj town has been raised.
The victim is now undergoing treatment at Sirajganj Shaheed M Mansur Ali Medical College Hospital in the town.
Centering the incident, police picked 17-year-old accused (name has not mentioned here for his underage) up from his house and brought to police station on Monday for interrogation. The detained is also class-VI student of Quomi Jute Mills High School in the town.
Masud Rana, Officer in Charge (Investigation) of Sirajganj Sadar police station confirmed the matter to journalists and said, “Legal action would be taken after investigation.”
Quoting the girl, victim’s family members’ complained that, the accused took her to a toilet, while she was playing outside of home and violated her forcibly.
Hearing her screaming, locals rushed to the spot and rescued her in a critical condition. Sensing the presence of locals, the accused managed to flee.
Humayun Kabir, Officer in Charge of Sirajganj Sadar police station told The Daily Sky that, “Process to lodge a case in connection with the incident is underway.”
